Refer to the component list below

1.Shut off  the water supply

Turn off the water supply to the geyser at the isolating valve(marked“3”).

2. Drain the geyser

Open the drainage valve (“6”). Allow water to flow into the drip tray (“2”) and out through the overflow pipe. If the drainage valve has a hose fitting, connect a hose pipe as an alternative.

3. Choose the installation location

The geyser valve must not be installed between the pressure control/relief valve and the geyser. Install it before the pressure relief valve (see diagram on reverse). Clear the workspace and position a bucket or pan underneath.

4. Measure and mark the pipe

Mark two cutting lines 94 mm apart. Mark two centering lines 20 mm on either side of the cutting lines.

 5. Cut and clean the pipe

Cut the pipe along the cutting lines (94 mm apart). Clean the ends to remove any burrs.

6. Prepare the geyser valve

Wrap PTFE tape around the geyser valve threads. Insert the rubber washers into the compression fittings. Screw the fittings onto both sides of the valve without overtightening.

7. Install the valve

Slide one compression fitting onto each pipe end. Check that the water flow direction arrow on the valve points towards the geyser. Align the fittings evenly between the centering lines.

8. Tighten the compression nuts

Hold the fitting nut with one shifting spanner. Tighten the compression nut with the other. Do not over-tighten the brass fittings.

9. Complete the installation

Ensure there is no water in the drip tray, then place the water sensor in the outlet area of the drip tray. Turn the water supply back on and check for any leaks. Ensure the drainage stop cock is closed.

10. Test the installation

Follow the test procedure on the box to confirm correct operation of the valve.

11. Retain documentation

Ensure that the Smart Valve Geyser Guard box and installation instructions are left close to the geyser for future plumbing and maintenance purposes.
